Unable to change user icon

I try to upload a new picture, it jumps to 100% uploaded, waits a few minutes, and then says that there was a problem and to try again. I’ve tried different images. The one I’m trying to use is 256 x 256, 7.5 kb

A few hours ago I found the site to be very, very slow. Maybe try again now?
