About suits and camouflage

Hey, so I want to discuss about my ideas to 4.0 which we didn’t have in 3.0

So, in 3.0 we had Ghillie Suits, but they were pretty bad to use, first because, we had to find every single piece of a Ghillie Suit separately and second because the grass to other players was for sure in “Off” option, making that set of clothing useless.

My first suggestion regarding the last paragraph is to add, another type of clothing called “Suits”, those would be special clothing that when you used them, they would cover up all of your normal clothing, so you wouldn’t lose space, and it would also look realistic because, in real life people who use these kind of clothing they don’t go full naked inside it.

Now, it has been a while since I played 3.0, but, you could add already two types of suits in 4.0, which would be the Ghillie Suits, and the Biohazard Suit.

Now, one thing that really bothers me in 3.0 and I would like to see removed in 4.0, it’s the ability to disable grass, like I said, it makes the Ghillie Suit useless, and since I thing Nelson is going for something a little bit more realistic in this version, I think it would be reasonable to not put this option.

Although many people could complain about performance, at least put an option for server’s to decide the minimum amout of graphical grass that you can use, if of course it’s gonna be like 3.0

Feel free to say anything here :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Reminds me in 2.0 when the ghillie set whould spawn all together at once.

I’m not agenst it, just maybe have things like overcoats, vests, and other “layers upon layers” clotheing be disabled. So we don’t have spec opps players in full ghillie running around.

It would be cool if ghillie suits covered only the back of your character so that you are forced to stay prone in order to not give away your position. As you said Nelson is going more real-life-based in this version so this would add more to the realism and tactical gameplay of Unturned II (Yes 4.0 will be named like this, look it up)

Should clarify that your particular suggestion doesn’t actually add realism, and also just nerfs the already useless ghillie suit.

Have grass off? Just where military clothes with green balaclavas!

I’m pretty sure he’s meaning for 4.x when you have layers of clothing. Ghillie would go over your main gear as an outer layer. And yeah, it would be more realistic cause they dont usually wear the thick ghillie on their chest and the front of their pants, just usually as a hat and cloak covering.

If we’re talking about the actual “bush rag” part, then it really depends on the ghillie suit you’ve bought.

Now, this does make it sound genuinely more useful though.

Well yeah, some ghillie is a suit, and some is designed to go over clothes. I’ve seen both types, though the first I’ve usually seen in airsoft, while the latter seems to be more of military use. Hunters seem to use both.

Also… orange camo for hiding from deer when hunting? maybe?

Stealth itself becoming more developed of a system would be interesting—against animals, zombies, humans, whatever. Actual impact on AI behavior, that is.

I’m pretty sure hunters only wear bright orange clothes so the don’t get shot by other hunters.

People in the wilderness wear bright colors to avoid being shot by hunters. Hunters wear orange specifically because it doesn’t look so bright and visible through the eye of a deer.

Yeah, it would be to see a type of Ghillie Suit like that.

And would be nice to be able to craft that like “Makeshift Ghillie Suit”, since is only a bush on the back.
