Unturned 2 will have several seasons of the year and each one will have one or two more things to hinder survival, in the summer it is very hot and so much so that our thirst increases faster but if we let them air conditioning in our bases? So we would not worry about heat but you should be thinking “in the unturned we will not just stay at home” so cars could also have air conditioning that would consume more the battery.
Stay in the shade.
Aren’t the summers in Canada usually pretty mild?
Well I do not live in Canada however on several other maps that will be added to the probability of the summer being hot are larger.
Not gonna lie youve just made my day lmao
Depends on where you are.
In southern Ontario/Quebec temperatures range from -40 C in the winter to 40 C in the summer. Canada is the 2nd biggest country in the world; it’s not accurate to just slap a single metric on the entire country when it has over a dozen vastly different biomes.
Even in Vancouver (which is one of the mildest cities in the country due to a climate similar to the Mediterranean), we still use air conditioning in the summer occasionally.
Freezing to death would be a very real issue in the winters of most Unturned maps, and creates a dilemma in that the player needs to bunker down and build a fire, but also needs to go out and get resources to keep themself and their fire alive. Actually dangerous levels of heat, while not unheard of are less dramatic, let’s stick with the trope are not something the player could actually do much against aside from stripping and maybe finding a drafty cave, a cool mountaintop, or a house/car with air conditioning and ventilation systems that are still in repairable condition. I’m not against their being different seasons, but I don’t think reskinning the challenge of winter is the best way to make summer unique.
I believe I have talked about this topic in the far past. And I talked about that heat is something we can’t control and we don’t want to drown Nelson with air conditioning mechanics and all that. For cold temperatures, it’s pretty straight forward, just move your body or stay by a heat source. As for heat, I suggested that people with heavy gear would have their temperature increase drastically to have the end game players a difficult task to maintain what they worked for. When it comes to bases, I suggested there be windows. And since we’ll be having multiple building tiers (tho not sure if Confirmed, but I believe this is how it will be since most people agreed to it). Metal being one of them, these bases are absolutely terrible at heat absorbtion because all the heat will be transferred to the inside of the of the base so it will be like Auschwitz in there. Unless you add a window (or more depending how big the base is) to allow temperature to escape through. Doesn’t have to be open, it could be like those bar windows. Vault doors would also be terrible at heat. Wood is good at absorbing heat for decent amount of time before it starts to transfer it inside the base. Even less for concrete, and even less for the higher tier.
maybe buildings tiers all have there different thermal level, where wood would the least thermal efficient but metal being even worse, and brick being the most thermal efficient. maybe even a placeable thermal padding that can be placed on walls and floors and maybe doors.
