Well, aesthetics reasons also should be listened to. If we want to have functionalities such as dismembrement, a combination of both is possible.

On this, Aesthetical reasons kind of is the exact point of having a nice player model and less of weird mechanical functionality, a combination of both though still kind of is just animating Blocky in the animation style most people do already animate it though. An example that people have even used is the more “bendable” style of animation that stuff like minecraft animation overhaul mods use.
To me it seems like the best pick to retain style while still moving the game forward in terms of improving overall graphics, reducing clipping issues et cetera even though it frankly wouldn’t be “The Best” pick if you look purely at reducing clipping issues and making things look as nice as it can.

Having two models would actually be nice, especially since a lot of people wanted something similar at some point.
Well, that was my idea. My belief is that a male / female character would be nice for more customisation, and perhaps more characters in the future would be interesting.
As for the model, it’s not perfect but it depict correctly what i want for unturned, a character with “realistic” proportions.

Then, the problem its not just that is not perfect, the problem is that is full of bugs, and the sequel does not hace to keep this bugs, it has to go on.
I mean, it shouldnt even matter what we all say, the upgrade of the model MUST happen anyway because its an improvement in all senses.

I personally prefer bendy for art-style reason as I feel current proposal for blocky would not really fit the current UII look. but i have no experience with modelling and coding either blocky or blendy character so overall I think it’s up to nelson.
Rn the only thing I want is a character with realistic proportion and perhaps 2-3 different character models, I don’t necessarily prefer blendy or blocky, just realistic proportions.

also everyone, it’s worth mentioning that if we’re gonna make the player blocky, then this would transfer over to zombies, animals, and whatever enemies will exist in excursions.
truly, it would be a mechanical and aesthetic nightmare (and by extension disaster)
maybe the best solution is, when U2 open beta comes out, players can choose between either model style. The groundwork for 3.0 bendy models already exist, all you’d have to add is a little magic to whip up a few blocky animations for players to devtest.
that way we get to try bendy models in the new U2 world, and try a different kind of model too
