Then we were discussing different topics
Dude you keep misunderstanding the post. What he means is the sides of your screen become blurry for a split second, but the center of the screen (WHICH IS THE PART YOU AIM WITH) would be unaffected.
Different implementations, yes.
That is what I have been trying to get across for the past three or so posts.
Yes and no. The muzzel flash and shockwave would obviously originate from the mizzel, but they would not comepletly block your sight and not subsit for long. Although what you propose also makes a lot of sense.
Thereās a lot of āIāve been sayingā¦ā and āThatās not what he saidā¦ā going on so Iāll try to sum it all up.
Clyme_4 wants cinematic blur around the edges of the screen when shooting. (Similar to Battlefield 1, except caused by your weapons, not by explosives being spammed around you.)
Harvest (thatās me) would be fine with this in very cinematic game.
DeusExMachina wants visible shockwaves and heat distortion and other visual effects to go with the muzzleflash.
LeMaKoTi doesnāt really mind if what Clyme_4 wants is implemented, but doesnāt see the point, but would not like any blurring in the center of the screen.
Several people have expressed dislike towards blurring the screen either in general or in a specific interpretation or misinterpretation of what someone else wanted.
Obligatory poll to sum up the opinions in this thread.
Which of the following would you prefer as an effect when YOU are firing your own weapon?
- Radial blur (everywhere but center)
- Persistent Gaussian/motion blur (whole screen)
- Realistic visual effects (e.g: muzzle flash, heat distortion)
- Darkened edges of the screen
- No effect at all
- [Null option]

People already gave the relevant commentary, so
bro this suggestion is great it would make the game so much more fun and enjoyable!!
Iād be fine with blurred/darkened edges or without such visual effects. Iād also like a certain level of realism in the muzzleflash, but thatās a completely different subject from all the other poll options. The other poll options are just filler. I can cast two votes, but not enough to cover all the reasonable options, so Iāve voted null option.
