I feel like II should have a larger variety of colors on vehicles (especially civilian), but while we’re on the topic; there should be different sets of colors for most things to begin with.
3.0 saw a small selection of colors for books, houses, bedrolls, smoke grenades, hatchbacks, you name it; and honestly, I think it could be way more diverse.
However, like I mentioned before, there should be different sets of colors instead of the same group, depending on the item/object/vehicle. For example, book colors having a seperate (and more book-like) color palette while bedrolls come in dark green, tan, and a few other colors.
I did suggest adding more colors in general, but I feel like some items should have a few less colors anyways due to them looking like eye sores, mainly bright ones. Considering II is going for a darker color scheme overall I think it makes even more sense for this to happen. Flares and smoke grenades are good examples of this. I don’t think we need more than a few colors (for smokes probably just white and black) for these.
Any thoughts? Any colors you want to see, especially on cars?
Well 3.0 had a specific art style and color palette that Nelson respected when implementing new objects and accepting workshop submissions into the game. Now with 4.0 having a slightly darker atmosphere and color palette I wouldn’t be surprised if darker colored variants of objects were added into the game with a lot more diversity.
Already confirmed, and the basic framework is implemented.
Variation system already allows for the same item to come in different colors and textures, this would apply for everything from clothing (e.g. plaid blue baseball cap, or brown leather fingerless gloves) to weapon attachments (green chevron-reticle reflex sight). Presumably this will obviously carry over to cars too.
The way this system works, it actually counts as the same item too, instead of being say 20 separate items needing their own IDs and configs and such.
I think it would be great to have lots of colours of vehicles and items,
I know this is unrealistic but I think it would enhance the theme of each map to have its own palette.
This would help limit the
Oh I knew about the system which means we won’t see 8+ of the same item, I’m specifically talking about color schemes here. Probably should have made that more clear.
