Crafting

Personally, I sorta like 3.0s crating system, other than its too easy to craft whatever. Now if we went back to 2.0s way of crafting, people would focus on crafting more than killing, right? Well anyways, If we had a sort of crating table style of craft (yes, like Minecraft ) we would have to know the recipes. But maybe once we have crafted an item, we have an option to find it in a list of already crafted items, and you can click one to automatically fill in the recipe. I think that would be good with this would be good for stopping new players from being able to look through a crafting list, and be able to craft a generator if they haven’t crafted it before. Hopefully this would help stop people from getting into good areas easily.

Afraid not.
I don’t see how this will stop people from getting into good areas either.

I would. Idk the others.

I’d prefer a decent mixture between both 2.x and 3.x crafting systems. Right now I can’t suggest with total exactitude how should it work, but the facts stays visible:

  • 2.x system was too complicated, despite looking really simple
  • 3.x system is way too simple, “untasty” (IMO) and easily exploitable

I’d like to put everything on a table like you suggested, but not making the “recipes” have to match placing the items into an specific pattern in order to work. This should not resemble Minecraft in that matter (I love that game tho).

Having a way to instantly browse for previously crafted stuff is good; auto-filling the interface isn’t. I would do the same thing that 3.x does currently, and that’s exacly what we want to change.

Making it a bit more interesting, maybe when trying to craft anything you haven’t ever crafted, maybe you should first of all get the proper tool for it (the tool slot(s) must come back from 2.x), and then you examine it for some clues for what can you make with it (working same with materials and supplies).

I know what you did there :smirk:

Know how you have to have a generator to get into places? If generators stop spawning or are really rare this would help lessen pvp because people can’t get into the areas that have good loot? I dunno

Not really

Purely accidental xd

Trying to balance something with primarily rarity doesn’t work well.
Requiring a base with one table in it to extract some rare parts from a gun, to get enough to make a dmr, to kill the acid zombie, to get to the wreck, to get parts to make a makeshift car, to get to a faraway high level city, to get parts for an automatic rifle, to kill the mega could work, but making progression much slower while keeping the 3.0 ease of killing a player no matter their gear kind of messes up the whole point of slower more permanent progression.

The longer it takes to get good loot, the better.

I don’t like 3.0’s system, it’s way too simple. 2.0’s system was way too complicated, with you needing to have the recipes in your ‘Shift + Tab’ menu.

(Also to add on to this, Nelson said in 4.0 there will be craft times, so no more just instantly crafting a pump jack, for example)
