Alright, first of all, I’m super late on this post. I mean seriously, Devlog XIII was posted in late July!
Quick disclaimer: I’m fine with how the player model is, It’s just a bit of a deviation from the Unturned style of character models I’m used to. It’s obvious that Nelson has worked very hard on this new rig, and I think it shouldn’t just be randomly scrapped because “the limbs are too long!”

These are just my thoughts on the new player model. I should have posted this 6 months ago, but I thought "well, perhaps the height will be change a little bit from community feedback. It’s obvious that this is the relative style we’ll get, at least unless Nelson does decide to change it.
Anyway, 2 paragraphs(-ish) of rambling aside, I do (in a way) like the old model better, but I think that was just because of similarity to Unturned 2.0. It just fits to the style I’m familiar with.
Now, while I did begin playing during 2.0, I didn’t really mind the transition from 2.0’s player model to 3.0’s more -clears throat- PHAT player model. I probably shrugged it off since it had been quite a while since I had played. The proportions of the two player models were, for the most part, the same (except for the much thinner limbs of 2.0)
And then, from 3.0, we jump to 4.0 (UII) and get a model that more closely represents a person with longer limbs compared to the torso, and a smaller head overall than the previous model. This, unlike the transition from 2.0 to 3.0, significantly changed the (relative) proportions of the model.
I think that everyone will grow accustomed to the different denizen model. After seeing the big yellow noodle monster with clothing on, it kind of changed my negative view on the model. (it still doesn’t have a face though )
That concludes my post. I hope it doesn’t appear as unintelligible rambling. Once again, I like the noodle(-ish) man, and I’m fine with it staying.
