Effects of eating various food for a period of time

Hello.

Before you start writing comments along the line of “Hey, we already suggested about this.” I’d like to say that I’ve look up and no. We didn’t. At least not in that much of a details. So… there’s that.
(Unless the search bar is broken. In that case, I’ll consume hard-to-swallow pills™.)

This thread is a little bit of a bread in french to read, so if you’re not into that, feel free to just read the TL:DR.

Effects of Eating Various Foods for a period of Time.

Or what I’d like to called simply as a “Food boredom” (Or what the nerd society called “Palate Fatigue”) would be a little bit of a challenge for survivors to planned their diet along their time in this… horrid world.

Ok, here’s an example.

In foods such as canned foods, Chips and highly salted or fat packed foods should. Overtime slowly increase stamina usage (Or decrease overall stamina, Still the same thing?) maybe effected vision… If that’s possible. (Motion blur, and more blurry.) And sounds. (More echo-ish, less pitched.)

The longer you’ve been eating such foods, the usage of stamina would be increase (Or decreased stamina). Of-course there should be a limit… otherwise it might be too much of a taboo. Let’s say it would stopped at 50% stamina usage. (Or 50% Less stamina) so it’s not a total pain in the rear for everyday’s survival

To counter this, you must eat a healthier type of food such as veggies, fish or raw meat. For a period of time until it’s balanced out. (or such.)

I was somewhat thinking of another invisible bar that’s if it’s full, these negative effects would start to show up. Each food might increase or decrease this bar.

And maybe in the hard difficulty, if it’s 50% or more, this bar would slowly increased. (Kinda like reverse immunity bar, could be a problem of not knowing if it’s going to increase or not though.)

Obviously we didn’t know what 4.0 will brings us in terms of foods… or really most of the things. So I couldn’t really make a list of foods in-which you would feel this food-boredom or not.

Speaking of “Food boredom”, some of you witty-mitties would wonder, “Hey, this isn’t really food boredom”, well. It isn’t. But it is a term that’s easier to understand. But if you insist. Look up the next chapter.

Food Boredom

Food Boredom is a symptom caused by eating a specific of food for a long period of time.

Simply put, it’s screwed up your body if you only ate just tomatoes for say… 2-3 days. Without anything else.
How would it screwed up? Well, obviously the same as the er… EoEVFfapoT’s negative effects, because you don’t vomiting blood for eating just tomatoes, (no, tomato-puke isn’t blood) (Although there might be some form of food poisoning, or overdose.)

I could make it deeper, but we don’t wanted it too be that realistic. Just a wimp to say that “Hey, you cannot survive by just eating tomatoes forever. WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR PROTEINS? You get the idea.

  • Salt overdose - Caused by consuming “Salt-packed” consumables, symptoms includes. Blurred vision, decreased stamina, “hearing difficulty”.

  • Sugar overdose - Caused by consuming “Sugar-packed” consumables, or ate too much starchy consumables symptoms includes. Less aiming accuracy, slightly shake-y vision, slightly increased stamina and decrease hunger. (Yes, the last 2 are good effects.)

  • Fat overdose - Caused by consuming “Fat-packed” consumables, symptoms are somewhat similar to “Salt-overdose” but added decrease hunger.

  • Veggie-overdose - Caused by consuming too much vegetables, symptoms includes. Increase hunger, “decrease food absorption efficiency” (Basically means during the overdose, you gets less water and food from eatting vegetables.)

These are good an all, but I’m afraid that people wouldn’t like 4 invisible bars, so Let’s just mixed them up to just 1 bar. (Preferably salt and fat combined.) Kinda funny now that all of the chapters are against each others.

TL:DR

Foods that’s highly salted or fat packed should gives you some negatives effects, and you’d have to ate other types of “Healthier” foods to cancel it out. So people would’ve to planned their diet and not rely to just 1 type of food for the rest of their miserable lives.

I highly doubt that there is a such thing as eating too many vegetables.
And “Food Boredom” is known as “Palate Fatigue,” by the way.

I’d say it’s more of a “Bloated by fibers” feeling, but yeah it’s not a technical term.

I don’t see the problem with eating fat-rich food in Unturned because the you literally spend all your game time running around. A friend of mine is a professional tennis player AND hobbyist runner, and he has for lunch what a regular person would eat in 2 days.

Yeah I think I’m mistooken the term of fat-packed foods for that time.

Was talking about things like cheese. Comes to think about it that’s the only fat-packed food in unturned. Oh well.

I’ve once tried eating a lot of cheeses and fat-packed foods as a main diet and I’m ended up getting somewhat dizzy. So I used that. (Yes that’s just in my case. But several researches proved me otherwise.)

Also, does your friend ate only fats? Or is it a fast-food type of foods? Just wondering.

It’s an interesting suggestion, and honestly could be cool in game.

I bet MREs will just have 0 side effects.
