I checked steam and it’s available for $53.99 (USD) pre-order.

If you own the Index controllers you’ll get the game for free because of that.

The only issue with the Valve Index pack is that it costs $999.99 USD, quite literally. However it does come with an absolutely MASSIVE VR set which is comparable to others like the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. On the other hand, it’s specially built to run steam games which means more compatibility.
iirc you don’t need the full package, just the controllers. The controllers should only be like $280 USD.

Ah, okay. That makes sense, but on the Steam store page of Half Life: Alyx, it mentions that it comes free with the Valve Index pack so I thought it meant the entire combo set, which is quite expensive. Also noting, this is technically Half Life: 3 but it’s in VR and it’s placed in the events between Half Life and Half Life: 2.
yeah, it comes free if you buy any part of the valve index package except the base stations
