I’ve noticed that in unturned II devlog #17 nelson briefly said that standing on moving cars does work. i thought would be a great thing when driving/flying massive vehicles such as cargo planes, cargo helicopters, jetliners and different types of trucks.
Basically players can walk around in large enough vehicles instead of sitting down (though this would still be a option). this could make it so to interact with different objects in the vehicle.
for example, lets take a cargo plane. I’m talking like large C-130 type stuff. instead of players looking at the side door and it just opening and you exiting, one player could open the side door, and it would stay open, therefore all others players can jump out as well. this could also be for the rear ramp, instead of looking at the rear ramp there could be a button to the side which controls the door. another good feature with this would be the ability to drop supply crates or whatever you please.
another neat example would be a medical truck. basically the truck is fitted with a small area in the rear where players can sleep and heal, while the truck is moving. players can access the cabin from the rear and other objects in the rear such as a medical cabinet or a first aid cabinet.
i think the upside of this idea is that it does require a lot of animating for vehicles that hold a lot of players, such as buses, without removing the atmosphere and you just teleporting into the vehicle.
This would definitely be a really cool addition. Looking at how it’s already possible to stand and walk on moving cars in the beta test, this could likely be easily possible in the future.
Yeah, thats the one thing that annoyed me in 3.0. Because of its limitations, you couldnt walk around a bus, if you tried you would glitch trough it and get out. Hopefully you can freely walk around moving vehicles in unturned 4.0.
Pahaha “Walking inside a moving plane would be epic” pahaha, forget walking inside the plane, imagine running out on a wing then jumping off w/a parachute as the plane got shot down! now that would be epic!
To be honest i dont know how that would work on servers as in 3.0
The server vehicle LAGS miles behind the client
I think this could cause a lot of problems especially on fast moving planes
