This is a flare, a thing than i believe need be added in unturned.

Basicaly a gun than shoot a flare, this flare cause a huge ammount of light below and above the same in a large area. after shot 2 things go work 1 its gravity the flare takes a long time to fall and another thing is how much time the flare let emit light.

If flares are going to be added they really need to have a purpose. Right now you can kind of attract zombies away from you but they should be brighter than now. You should be able to stop a flare from far away including the flare to produce smoke just like flares work.
Flare guns would be amazing, they could light up a large area so its easy to see if someone is hiding in the field around your base at night.
Considering it’s going to be darker (ahem, like A LOT DARKER, ranging from pitch black nights to 3.0s light levels on full moon nights probably) they’ll be a good light source.

Flares should hurt if you shoot someone with them.
They should definitely have impact damage and a small amount of burn damage, for sure.

Light fires
Impair/Counter NVG users
Blind/Counter Thermal users
Could also have some unique interaction with certain types of turned, maybe ones that are very strong but only have heat vision.
