In editor you can place zones with different temperature which can or cannot variate during 4 seasons.
For example cave system, the deeper you go the colder it gets.
Caves with lava: summer = hells pit, winter = hot oven.
High in the sky = cold.
And so on.

IRL temperatures are generally stable year round underground.
