The only way to recover this game is selling it

You guys are looking at this situations as siding Nelson or Curated map makers. This is not about siding, this game has lack of new content and loosing too many players.

We do not take any sides. No one supports anyones sides.Problem is game’s future which everyone’s worried about.

Well, was mostly lurking, seeing post of this type here and there,
One key thing that I actually logged in just to type is that, the vocal “community” isn’t the only community out there for Unturned. There are probably quite a bit of lurkers like me, the silent people, people who cannot access these echo chambers (The official forums/Discord/steam forums).

Admittedly, unless we are first parties to whatever unfolded, we don’t exactly know everything that transpired, not that that should blindly colour your lens that you just bash people left right center.

tldr : There are lots of other parts of the Unturned community other than whatever was here and there.

Honestly, I feel like other people would’ve been better for the community. Cause other people wouldn’t have gate-kept what they found.

Also, I’d argue that the only reason they have more “knowledge” is because they got to ask for new modding addons and were the first ones to get to use those addons. And even then, there are a ton of people with more knowledge in specific areas

This is about siding. Y’all are mad at Nelson because he cut off ties with some curated map devs that clearly did something against SDG’s wishes

Also, if you truly cared about new content, you’d suggest something like more community commissions or going open source. Not kicking out the man that made this game.

The game has no future without Nelson. Do you think other game companies would keep the curated process? How about skin crates? How about commissioning the community?

99% of all game studios would throw all that away; including every studio he’s worked with so far. And the first thing to go would be curated. Purely because of situations like what happened recently. If the company knows they’re gonna get massive backlash if they ever need to sever ties with a dev, they just won’t make ties to any non-hired devs.

Instead of booting out Nelson and killing the game, we need to figure out ways to make the game grow

Well, what I got from the first message in this topic was this: kick Nelson out.

Realistically, that would not help the game in the long run, and it would be unfair to Nelson. As CPL pointed out in the message I am replying to, Nelson’s initiatives towards greater community involvement stems from him. Nelson cooked up a game that we enjoy very much.

Also, selling the game gets us nowhere. Does no one recall what happened to console edition? 505 Games kept messing up when it came to getting development team to work on it. In reality, the value of the game is ridiculously high, and I’m pretty sure it would end up being owned by a company that would just suck the life out of it.

The decisions that Nelson made more recently were rightfully his to make. He created the game and therefore should have a say about the direction of it.

We are only players who can provide suggestions, and no one knows about Nielsen’s actual situation and reasons for pressure because everyone is themselves and not others. However, what I want to say is that we must respect Nielsen. Without him developing this game, we would not have played this game. He can listen to players’ suggestions, which many game developers cannot do. Almost every post he replies to, we respect Nielsen. It is his choice to decide the direction of the game and the direction of the team that we cannot decide.

He can completely ignore us or choose to retire, but from developing this game to choosing to persist and constantly update, the concept of 2017’s game being able to be updated until 2025 has been constantly updated for 8 years. Open world games released in the same era have basically stopped updating, and I don’t talk about the graphics and gameplay of this game. Nielsen has always wanted his game to be popular, which is why he has competitions and various activities. It is obvious that he has accepted everyone, so we also need to respect her

Who is Nielsen

?

This is you directly talking about the curated map change that mostly effected renexon and danaby. You are siding with them here by saying Nelson shouldn’t have cut them off.m regardless of if you like them or not

Again, ?

I’m just putting forward my side on why Nelson shouldn’t sell

I think You can’t read or can’t understand what you read. I told I don’t even like Renexon

Bro what are you on No one is supporting dan or renaxon this is about game’s future. That whole selling the game part is bit overkill we want to have new maps not new game improvements this the point. Everyone knows nelson wouldn’t relase a map like recent maps. Beacuse we know curated creators are more talented in the map making scene. Nelson is great at making the game greater by improving it slighty more and more. You are saying that “Nelsonpls” is supporting dan and renaxon but he said he doesnt support anyone do you even read people’s posts? You are the one taking sides from the start of the topic you are just defending nelson.

I understand that you don’t like Renexon. That doesn’t change the fact that you used Nelson cutting ties with Renexon and Danaby as evidence that Nelson has a “disease” and should sell out. Your entire response to nelson was saying that it was rude to cut off ties with them by removing their curated status. So unless you believe that Nelson was in the right to remove the curated maps (which would be confusing because your attitude towards it seems to be very negative), you are on Renexon and Danaby’s side.

Then you should love the new changes. For the past few years, it’s been impossible to start a curated map because they shut the submissions off. So, 2 people got to make over half of all the curated maps released since Kuwait. This arguably slowed down the curated maps so we ended up getting less curated maps

The recent curation changes obviously made Nelson realize the flaws of the current system. That’s why he’s already stated he’s gonna completely redo it

With a better curation system, multiple teams could be working on different maps at the same time. So the community would get more curated maps. Each team could request their own additions too so the modding scene would get even more new tools to use. It’d be just overall better than how the current system works
