When I read anything about the Unturned II story some of the time people mention that they would like to see voice actors for human NPC’s. This really rubs me the wrong way for some reason (it bothers me enough to rant about it on the forum). Unturned is a quite simplistic and indie zombie apocalypse survival game not The Walking Dead or State of Decay. If Unturned II does end up having a story “conversations” with human NPC’s should remain text based like in 3. Now don’t think that I’m some anti story dude (i really want there to be a story) but voice actors in Unturned??? Really?? I don’t like using this term in this way but that’s kind of cursed. I also highly doubt Nelson would go out of his way to find and hire good voice actors.
That’s about it :<) . This is my take on the “Unturned II story should have voice actors” thing. Feel free to tell me what you feel about the idea.
Full on story voiced story (if it even gets one), no. Narration for notes and the like, absolutely.
Hell push comes to shove he can just make a “narration DLC” so he can offset the cost of the VAs. I’d buy that.
Albeit already being possible to make voiced NPCs, it definitely is a weird hassle. Would be interesting to potentially have native support for files to be played on top of dialogue and such if NPCs do get expanded a fair bit as they’re decently simple in 3.x.
@l_uki It would be cool to get the community in on this voice acted NPC thing. I do know a guy who actually did voice acting for a movie that was dubbed from Russian to English.
