I think I read in Discord that players who would log into the game would be getting some sort of present but do so far my account gained nothing. Was it true?

You have to play unturned within the allotted time and you MAY get a random drop of a gift bag.

It’s not guaranteed. They drop randomly like normal items, except they have an increased drop rate just for this event
at the off-inventory, but “NOT” as a scavenging loot.yep that’s how drops work
