A suggestion to make the crossbow great again

Well, since the crossbow got nerfed awhile back because it was too OP (1 hit kill to the head without a helmet, silent, less ballistics to account for, craftable ammo) so Nelson nerfed the damage output of the crossbow so that it wouldn’t kill with 1 hit.
Now logically, having your skull get impaled by an arrow should end your suffering… but this would simply make the crossbow OP again.
Well, the travel time of the arrow could be increased and the travel time of the firearms could be decreased (because they’re fucking bullets)
And since we made the bullets go faster, it would only make sense if bullets had less ballistics to account for.

Idk about you guys but the crossbow was my main primary and after the nerf, it became useless.

Craftable crossbows as well as hunting crossbows. Makeshift ones can one hit to the head, but cannot penetrate a helmet. Hunting crossbow can penetrate helmet to an extent, doing about 75% damage. Reload also needs to be longer to reflect the fact that it’s a fucking crossbow.

Exactly.

If the reload was like it should be (about 2-4 seconds), it would be balanced enough to become a one-shot kill. This would reward skill as adept archers can still neutralize targets very effectively, but you’d be half screwed if you missed. That said the crossbow is silent so if you are good with stealth it wouldn’t be so much of an issue. The Rust crossbow does a very good job in this regard.

Well, that can easily change if Nelson changes the travel time for bullet and makes them faster.
