I’ve already touched up on both IR laser sights and lights, as well as zeroing in scopes in different threads so I’ll link those here in an edit later on.
1) Try to recreate a stereoscopic view on certain sights. One of the benefits of an EOTech sight over a generic red dot is that it’s able to be used with both eyes open.
2) Improved Reticles.
Making reticles smaller could make the game look a lot better.
As for sight customization, I’m not asking for the full COD Black Ops 2 treatment, but a few pre-made sights and colors to chose from in a menu if you select the scope.

would be good for iron sights too, blurring out the back sight
Improved Reticles.
i think to expand on this the size of the reticles should always be consistent no matter the distance - essentially the further away you get from the sight, the more of the glass the reticle takes up. this effect is what makes reticles look so small when you get up close to the sight
Sight physics
…you mean replicating the parallax-free nature of sights? iirc nelson’s already implemented this. it’s easy to see here, where you can see the reticle way off when he looks through the glass in the inventory…thing
Ah neat. Apparently Nelson has already looked into new reticles and colors being randomized, as well as a new PEQ style laser sight. Must’ve forgotten about this.
But yes, I do agree with everything here. If Nelson ever needs a good example of a game that does optics very well, I’d have to point to Battlestate’s wonderful creation.
So update time. For the pic of #4 I didn’t realize the front and rear sights were swapped in position but either way that serves my purpose of that image to explain what I mean by that suggestion.
One thing I hope they add is bipod deployment. When prone or when your weapon is slightly on top of an object (Like a wall or a barrel) you could open it, and when you leave you close it.
I hate 3.0’s version of just quick proning in every gunfight and the bipod magically works. (Also if my suggestion gets added, your movement should be restricted when it’s open, so you’d only move your vision and the gun a bit to the sides)
