An Unturned 4.0 Sights and attachments concept

I’ve already touched up on both IR laser sights and lights, as well as zeroing in scopes in different threads so I’ll link those here in an edit later on.

1) Try to recreate a stereoscopic view on certain sights. One of the benefits of an EOTech sight over a generic red dot is that it’s able to be used with both eyes open.

2) Improved Reticles.

Making reticles smaller could make the game look a lot better.

As for sight customization, I’m not asking for the full COD Black Ops 2 treatment, but a few pre-made sights and colors to chose from in a menu if you select the scope.

3) Sight physics

Sights will move with your vision, and the reticle can be seen (barely) while not ADSing. Also applies to others’ views of your sight.

4) Modular rails

Maybe we could choose how far forward or back items will be when attached to a rail.

5) New and/or improved attachments

Be able to put sights on top of scopes and transition between

Older model Aimpoint sights are pretty neat

So is the MARS

The Specter optic by Elcan is a personal favorite of mine.

Anybody else think the Tactical Laser could use a little facelift?

As can the Bipod, getting rid of that silly forked pedestal look that 3.0’s bipod had.

would be good for iron sights too, blurring out the back sight

  1. Improved Reticles.

i think to expand on this the size of the reticles should always be consistent no matter the distance - essentially the further away you get from the sight, the more of the glass the reticle takes up. this effect is what makes reticles look so small when you get up close to the sight

…you mean replicating the parallax-free nature of sights? iirc nelson’s already implemented this. it’s easy to see here, where you can see the reticle way off when he looks through the glass in the inventory…thing

everything else

Ah neat. Apparently Nelson has already looked into new reticles and colors being randomized, as well as a new PEQ style laser sight. Must’ve forgotten about this.

EFT intensifies

But yes, I do agree with everything here. If Nelson ever needs a good example of a game that does optics very well, I’d have to point to Battlestate’s wonderful creation.

i’m pretty sure EFT doesn’t do 1 or 4, so this could be EFT but better

So update time. For the pic of #4 I didn’t realize the front and rear sights were swapped in position but either way that serves my purpose of that image to explain what I mean by that suggestion.

Did…

did I just play myself?

In a good way?

Setting crosshair in option is very practical for me - love dot

Isn’t this already implemented?

No, what you can do now is change each component of the rail system to their preselected position.

Are you talking about 4 or 3?

4.x (10 characters)

Lookat devlogs 5, their are 2 spots for an optic.

Unturned 4.0

Escape from Seattle

One thing I hope they add is bipod deployment. When prone or when your weapon is slightly on top of an object (Like a wall or a barrel) you could open it, and when you leave you close it.

I hate 3.0’s version of just quick proning in every gunfight and the bipod magically works. (Also if my suggestion gets added, your movement should be restricted when it’s open, so you’d only move your vision and the gun a bit to the sides)

it would work exactly as it does in Insurgency, which I’d like a lot. Althought in this other game is almost totally unsafe to use it non-prone, lol.
