I’d love to add ravines to the map, but due to the water volume, they’d end up submerged. Implementing this feature would be straightforward, and it would also support other modders in creating more dynamic locations.
Is it impossible for you to resize the water volume or add multiple volumes in such a way that would allow you to make a hole in the water?
That wouldn’t be ideal and would also lead to performance issues.
so you want me to put 4 water volumes just to make 1 hole?
There is already a cut function for terrain and it works perfectly fine
edit(my bad, i thought u were replying to my message)
The performance impact isn’t that bad if there isn’t reflections enabled.
It’s definitely not ideal, and a cut volume for water would be best and is on my personal wishlist, but it is highly unlikely for the near future and alternative approaches should be used if possible. Depending on what you’re trying to do, using teleport volumes may work fine.
It would be interesting to see what kind of creativity would ensue from something like CSG for water. I’d love to try my hand at a giant underwater complex someday. ;D
