Bicycle (and tires)

Hi all.

Bicycles is probabaly the least thing you would have thought of about a typical wasteland vehicle. but it has been added in 3.0, and I’d personally gladed to see it in II.

However, some adjustments to it should and would make it more worthy of using.

  • Bicycles should be the best stealth vehicle in the game. Back in 3.0, they have the same alert rate that of any vehicle (even with no sounds immiting from it.), so my suggestion is that it would only have the same alert feature that of walking. (That is, you won’t alert any infected unless you’re in their line-of-sight.) Take it from that stranger whom rode bicycles for over 5 years.

  • Another feature would be animations about it. When idling, you would use one of your foot to “not failing”. And when turning back you would kinda push your “holding-leg” backwards… I hope that’s makes sense.

That’s really it for the bicycle.
Now for tires.

Tires back in 3.0 is probabaly a taboo, it doesn’t “pop” by it’s own but would easily “pop” if someone damaged it.

I’d say that if the tire’s feature in II would be similiar with that of 3.0, it should’ve been more tougher.

Also, degrading tires! (Incoming 3.0 standpoints ahead.)
Say, what if tires have “quality” like foods and guns, but it would degrades when you’re say… using them, and would “pop” if it reach 0%?

How do I fix them? Well, if it “were to be added” you can use socketwrench to take off that nearly explody tire and just fix it with some metal scraps? (Didn’t know if adding rubber to fix tires would be too much for just 1 feature… probably is.) Or just replaced it with another tire.

Oh and, would be nice if a 50% tire looks a little bit damaged and a 15% tire would looks like feces… so it would at-least gives you some form of clue.

Your thoughts?

Could add a bike pump as an item and use it in conjuncton with duct tape.

I could think of some other uses for rubbers...

(͠≖ ͜ʖ͠≖)

Rubber is used in airguns, pneumatic tools, hoses, Chassepot needle rifles, diving equipment, footwear, conveyor belts, and protection from chemical, electrical, and biological hazards.

There are tires made of solid rubber that can literally stop a bullet.
Also, folding bikes.

Kind of what Redcomm said, I would also like to be able to pick up a bicycle, so that I could transport it with me, even on foot.
