How the hell do I get crafting materials for free and why all of my crafted items are just ponchos and scarfs…

Unfortunately I think they’re as free as possible without attracting bots back to the game. Lots of players have commons/uncommons/materials from before drops were disabled, or otherwise a couple unwanted items can be converted into the limited-edition Buak items.
