Cant craft weak glass despite having skills and materials

Same thing for the oven, have all the required things for it, skills, materials or heating and it still wont let me craft it.
Playing on A6 Polaris, Normal mode, no mods.

To clarify – A6 Polaris (and other curated maps) are mods. Many of these maps do not include any items from vanilla/official content, which means that you cannot use any vanilla/official crafting recipes.

I don’t believe A6 Polaris has a “weak glass” item that you can craft. Just equivalents of bulletproof and one-way glass.

Molton is right. If you play on a server, so on the server sometimes it shows the entire list of crafting recipes. Most of servers do it and on mod maps it can be a little buggy and how recipes that are impossible to craft.

Why is it readily shown on the unturned singleplayer page as a map that can be easily played without disclaimer of anything? As a new player i had no idea i was playing a mod and simply thought i was playing a community made map with extra items and recipes to add spice to the game, and not a single thought ran across my mind that maybe i was playing a whole new modded experience.

For what it’s worth, I think this feedback has grown more common. Particularly from newer players—but also players who might not play during every major update. Unturned has a vibrant modding community, and I feel this is reflected with the options afforded to curated maps to tailor those experiences. But it’s definitely a point of confusion for some players.

I’d like to clear up some confusion. Chiefly: everything under the “Curated” tab is a community-made map with new items and other content, downloadable from the Steam Workshop. Unlike other custom maps, these curated maps adhere to certain guidelines during their development and receive some official support (e.g., new features).

  • Some of these maps are very close to the vanilla gameplay experience. They play similar to vanilla maps, and include many of the vanilla items in the game. This is probably a bit closer to what you were expecting.

  • Other maps add a lot of exclusive content, and don’t include any vanilla items at all. On those maps, you can’t craft any vanilla items simply because the ingredients for doing can’t be found on that map. These maps might include a variety of other gameplay differences as well (e.g., default difficulty differences, tweaks to levelling skills, melee weapons being hotkeyable, most objects being destructible for items, cutscenes during quests, etc.)

I apologize if this experience has made getting into the game more difficult. If you’re looking for a strictly vanilla experience, I recommend playing a map from the “Official” tab. For community-made maps that still feel like vanilla, I’d recommend some of the older curated maps.

I see, thanks for the information Molton. The more i play, also the browsing around the workshop and steam discussions ive started to understand what you mean here.
Ill keep this information in mind for the future, im sure if any other new player has questions like mine, this should be a good format to use in order to let them know. :+1:

I’m unsure if the game already does this, but it would be a nice QoL feature for the game to denote the release dates, so players can more find the old-style curated maps easier.
