Corpse Physics

The title is a little more morbid than I anticipated, but essentially something better than the basic flop on death that we have in 3.0.

If you get shot while in a vehicle, your body should stay in the seat instead of falling out. If you wanted to get in, you could open the door (assuming how vehicles work in 4.0) and take it out. Depending on how differently zombies behave in 4.0, they could also hide in cars and vans and whatnot.

If you’re hit by a car, you shouldn’t plop down on the spot, you should be thrown back a bit. Same goes for explosions but that’s already done in 3.0.
Rust did this recently but if you die in water, your body should float so it’s easier to get the loot, instead of risking drowning trying to swim down to Atlantis for a couple of beans.
Not directly related to physics, but bodies should also make some sound effects whenever they fall or are interacted with, instead of being the silent empty husks like in 3.0.

That’s all I can think of at the moment, what what ideas do you have? And what do you think about this?

I agree with this post

+1 (10 chair limit)

I think that there should be a toggle option (disabled by default) that gives you the good old goofy corpse physics of 3.0.

I can assure you a lot of people would enjoy it.

Yeah, like an option for the silly physics, and maybe even a option for super crazy physics like that “Flight” random boost in 3.0.

I don’t think it would be necessary for xombies to be hiding in cars and vans, because they have to keep roaming around in search for food and they don’t sleep.
Other than that, 100% agree

well maybe they died/got infected in the cars and when you pass by them they try to attack you. even if they have a seatbelt on xd

Small expansion: you should be able to take a corpse and pull it wherever you want. Could be a cool feature if we get better npcs/bandit npcs. They should also have a hitbox so you can’t just walk through it

…but…why?

Creates a bonfire out of zombie corpses

Nail them to your base walls to strike fear in the hearts of raiders. Then kill the raiders and nail them to your base too.
