      Hello, my name is ZJS. I am writing this appeal in regards to my permanent ban on the Unturned Official Discord. I was banned 493 days ago. (May 22, 2023). I was banned for “Toxicity & Hateful Comments Repeatedly with extensive punishment history. 

      Firstly I would like to apologize for my past actions, I know I made some large mistakes in the past with the things I said however I would also like to ask, that you understand that it was well over a year ago and that I’ve had plenty of time for me to reflect on my actions and change my views on certain sensitive topics. I do genuinely feel bad for the people I may have insulted and sincerely regret my actions. Over the past year and a half or so, I have realized how devastating and hurtful my words can be. The main reasons I was banned was for Transphobia and Homophobia (if I remember correctly.) I would like to argue some of the punishments for stuff I received which led to my ban however this is obviously not the time nor the place. I would also just like to state that my cousin is trans and her sister (other cousin or course) is lesbian. Both being involved with LGBTQ clearly. Thinking about this, I would be very upset / angry if someone were to disrespect what I believed in. But to write it short, I’m sorry for my previous actions and would like for forgiveness. 

     Secondly, I would like to say my reason why I want unbanned. Let me start here, I own an unturned trading discord, I’m currently at 630 members at the time of writing this. I would love to grow it to 1000 members! This would be a pretty cool achievement as I have been trading for years and used to wish there was a discord as good as mine. (Not trying to sound arrogant, sorry if I am). I believe being able to advertise in the discord it would help me and make that 1000 member goal possible. I would also just like to help the community and make it a better place. I’ve been staff in lots of unturneds servers and would say I’m pretty good with people. (Dark RP, Pandahut, Vengeance [PVP seever used to be really big, currently head admin on it and have been for over a year], Desmond’s Arena, Old Trading Discord, Current trading discord [Owner], and several other small / medium servers. I would just like to also state, I was never fired from any of these servers, the ones I was staff on and am no longer I retired from due to me not being able to get the required hours.)

     Lastly, I’m done yapping. Sorry for writing 38363727373772 words out you have to read, just wanted to make my intentions clear and apologize for my actions. To whomever reads this thanks for you time and consideration.

Hey, @ZJS. Your appeal has been accepted as of today. You can now rejoin the server.

You mentioned wanting to advertise again, as part of your appeal. When doing so – make sure to reread any channel-specific rules (e.g., for #trading and #advertising) in addition to the server’s core #rules. Notably, if your server includes any services that break Steam’s guidelines (such as RMT – a common issue that we’ve had to remove posts for promoting) then it can’t be advertised.

Thank you for your patience. To clarify, appeals will usually take a few days when the user was banned by a former staff member – which was the case here. Although other common reasons can include:

  • The appeal was filed over a holiday or weekend.
  • The staff member who banned you is not available at the time of appeal (e.g., they’re on vacation).
  • The user has an extensive moderation history.
