I think curated maps should be (free) DLC, with all the guns and stuff/custom content in the package with the map, rather than integrated into the base game. If so, you won’t have as many assets to load in if you just want the game to play the base vanilla maps.

that would defeat the whole purpose of a curated map though, it would be just like any other workshop map except youd download it from a different screen

The whole point of a curated map is that it gets featured to everyone as if it were an official map.
This is also the same logic behind why timed curated projects exist with looser guidelines.
