Elevators could be placed on top of floors to make a way to move up higher to your other floor ( if you have another floor. ) you could easily just walk into it and press a button and it would take you up. You could also have a button that brings you down so that you can go back down to the floors below you. Of course it would take fuel to move it up and down but maybe not if it is not being used.

Support for elevators in the game would be a nice feature for some things. Maybe only use it only for major things though and have a very simple version for bases. For regular buildings they would either need a certain amount of power or access to some sort of backup power supply that is still functional maybe.
I would like the support for such a feature, and perhaps appearing in locations. But not as a vanilla placed object like stairs.
