i’m guessing epic games store is going for a consumer extremely positive review, whilst a negative review for game devs.
It’s the inverse. One of their claims was that they’d be prioritizing a developer-friendly experience as opposed to a consumer-friendly experience (or more accurately, that their developer-platform relationship would be what determines the most successful digital storefront).
As it stands, I’d describe them as publisher-friendly. They still lack a lot of the features that make Steam a more consumer-friendly and a more developer-friendly platform.
- That being said, although they’ve been slow to follow-through on their roadmap, they have been pushing out stuff that’s consumer QoL and “core platform” experience.
