Everything on steam will be 80% off, while epic games will have everything free

I’m having a hard time deciding if I should redownload the epic games launcher because of their conserversywith the Chinese government. (Selling user data to the Chinese government), but than I read about the article.

Epic games is pretty limited with good games. The best they have as of now are metro exodus, borderlands 3, and subnautica. While steam has everything like the old tomb raiders, old school cod, unturned, squad, rising storm, insurgency, half life, tf2, gmod, and much fucking more. Steam even has movies, and hentai.

If you don’t have epic games, are you planning to get it after reading the article. Just saying, a lot of devs pulled their game out when epic did a sale.

What the hell, I thought every single game on steam was 80% off, I didn’t know it was a single game called Everything.
Am I just dumb?

“Everything” is just a game, not literally all the games.

So was it a clickbait title saying that metro exodus will be free?

Yeah.

Bro unturned is 80% off!!!

Honestly I don’t care if epic is giving the chinese my email address and my porn history.

The point of Epic giving out free games is so people can build up their library in EGS. People who have more games in EGS will likely stay in their ecosystem than Steam.

It is an interesting strategy but it wont work for most people who already have alot of games in Steam.

‘Everything’ isn’t interesting enough for me to buy it or get it for free on Epic though. As for the article;

By making Everything on the store free, Epic has clearly hammered the final nail in Steam’s coffin.

Console players are probably laughing their asses off at this (since they have singular stores and no place to run off to). Still, the mess that’s happening is both silly and somewhat worrying…

Time to buy my third console for this generation.

When I still primarily distributed my “real gaming” experiences across consoles, I never really enjoyed the idea of third-party console exclusives. Regarding PC, third-party exclusives for various distribution platforms aren’t something I personally enjoy either.

I talked to my cousins in Tencent, they deny buying user data.

In all seriousness, think for yourself for a moment. Why would a third party supporter want to collect user data to give to their government? I’d understand if it was the US government, but China? What do they need this information for? If anything, collecting that information just means additional administration and thus more tax money spent…and for what?

If the Chinese government wants to know which Girls Und Panzer characters I look up hentai of, they don’t need to install spyware on my pc to accomplish that, they could just ask and I’d straight up tell 'em. /s

It’s Maho Nishizumi btw

People are assuming they are selling data to companies. Not buying them.

I stopped caring about the whole EGS data fiasco but will not deny their platform is just terrible and it disconnects me from the service all the time. Also their strategy of exclusives is simply disgusting.
