What conditions does an account need to meet to receive a free item?
Free item drops were removed a long time ago due to bot farming. sorry

This is just using Steam’s playtime drops feature, which means having the game open and not having received a drop within the cooldown period is the only requirement.
In the past – we’ve commented on ideas like having it tied to Gold DLC (or some other requirements to be eligible). But this is not something we’ve done for this test. Additional eligibility requirements may be something we consider depending on feedback to this test + an upcoming survey.
