options:
a) ranger parts for all high and low ranger caliber weapons
military parts for all high and low military caliber weapons
civil parts for all civil caliber weapons
special parts for all special weapons(rocket launcher, shadowstalkers and etc.)
b) complex(high caliber ) ranger parts for all high caliber weapons
simple(low caliber) military parts for low military caliber weapons
civil parts for all civil caliber weapons
special parts for all special weapons(rocket launcher, shadowstalkers and etc.)
and for all options above you have to find, salvage or craft(if you are lucky to find a blueprint) these parts
As much as I like the idea of gun parts for repair, I think repairing shouldn’t be limited to gun parts only.
Spinning off from your idea, it could be that gun parts fully repairs the gun. (If guns are very modular in 4.x, it could be different in visual and performance)
To prevent guns from being unusable, maintenance items are applied to prevent the total deterioration of the gun. Example is Fallout’s Weapon Repair Kit, it increases the weapon’s condition to a percent dependent to the player’s Repair skill.
iirc I think Unturned 3 was originally going to have something similar to this? A revamped repairing is probably likely for 4.x sometime later down its development.
Personally, I feel that the rate at which a weapon degrades shoulde seriously be revamped.
An assault rifle is usually built to last hundreds of thousands of rounds fired through it before degrading, why should the same thing in Unturned break after just a few magazines? The same applies for all military and ranger-grade weapons. Civilian and makeshift weapons I can understand, but military?
this is good! Maybe reforce the durability of all parts of the weapon and well you repair you weapon in parts depending of the part broken you lose all precision, recoil, stability, damage, FireRate or in extreme cases the capacity of shoot!
