Instead, it only illuminates the closest terrain of land. Oh…and swimming sound is horrible. Did I say that already?

It’s simple, water isn’t solid.
In Unturned, in order for the light to work, it has to come in contact with a solid object. Examples are trees or rocks. Considering Water isn’t solid, it won’t illuminate and make light underwater. That is unless your at the floor of the ocean, where light can make contact with the ground.

according to Unturned physics, for you to see light, it has to be reflected or deflected fro ma solid surface, water is a shallow surface that doesn’t interact with null mass particles, thus, light can only bounce back to you by hitting a solid’s surface.
