How to properly use the devkit's foliage/landscape tool?

Its looking really impossible, as i cant find a smoothing tool on landscape, painting terrain is shit, and i still cant figure out foliage tool.

Any ideas or tutorials?

Hit E.

Completely disagree. Change your splatmap settings if you don’t like it, but it makes the terrain far more beautiful when you’re not painting straight squares of materials. This is how Russia has its materials flow from one material to the next in different biomes.

Add a Foliage_System and then Bake Local or Bake Global after selecting it.

tested, it sounds more like a flatten tool.

it might be an devkit error, but sometimes it refuses to paint. also, i agree with it making the terrain beautifull.

it worked!

“W” is to flatten. “Q” is to raise. “E” is to smooth. “R” is to slope. “F” allows you to change focus.

Also worth checking your settings to make sure you’re not having them all assigned to some overkill values when smoothing and stuff.

When using the Devkit you always need to make sure you’ve selected everything you’re using and applying to. It’s might still be worth double-checking your settings, too. Make sure you actually select a material.
