Excuse me if the title isn’t the best for this but I really don’t know what the best word to describe this would be, and sry if the writing is messy but I hope that the pictures will make you understand what I mean if you cant understand my shitty writing

Small intro
So atm storage of items is really boring and dosn’t have any detail to it if you ask me, so in 4.0 I’d like there to be more detail to storages and items that are being stored, and also animations when interacting with different storages and inventories.
Details
So when items are being stored on a shelf or in a wardrobe I think that they should be visible on the shelf or wherever they are stored, this way you have somewhat of an idea on what kinda stuff there is in the storage, and most importantly it gives the world SO MUCH more detail, immersion and bases would feel so much more alive than they do now.
Animations when interacting with storages or inventories would add even more to the immersion and it would also make looting for example a dead body out in a field more risky, so you would have to be more careful when looting it and then you might think twice about shooting the player in the first place if he is in a big open area.
Also to even access the inventory of the storage it would be nice if you would have to open the doors to the wardrobe or open the top of the crate to access its inventory.
Have a small example of what i mean, using a wardrobe as example.
Step 1: you have to open the doors to the wardrobe
I think it would be nicer if you could interact with the item so you don’t have to go in the storage thingy but just have an animation to open the storage door with E and grab the item you’re looking at with F. If you want to put something in the storage then you hold the item you want to put in it and press F where you want it to be.
I mean it would be nice, but then it would take a lot of time to place items in storage, I have thought about it and I don’t think it would work to well with the bigger storages, but it would be a nice feature if you just want to put some items on to a table or somewhere else
Like in this picture that i included in the post
The reason I have second thoughts about this is because of one mod I had installed in Minecraft once that had transparent chests where you could see the the items in it, much like this.
The problem with that was that once you had several players using a lot of those chests (the chests had pretty decent storage), the game really started chugging as it was forced to render all of those items.
Then again, this could just be a Minecraft problem because the items all had their revolving animations, but this could still be a problem.
It could be yes, but I have a feeling that it wont sinc these pictures are from 3.0 with some mods and it works well, and 4.0 is going to be a lot more optimized than 3.0, but it is good that you point that out sinc I had not thought about that
Too many polygons. I prefer the static look of the other storage containers as it doesn’t impact performance. I assume you’re saying just having to press the use key twice to access, which is quite unnecessary. Saying ‘it’d be nice’ isn’t justification for a system that is cumbersome.
I think it could cause a lot of lag! Imagine a wardrobe, which fits approximately 35 items that occupy 1 slot, now imagine it completely filled with these small items. However, there are two (2) ways that I have to solve.
First: The ability to disable rendering of these items in the settings.
Second: Items appear in 2D, it would look kind of ugly, but it would help a lot in performance.
I think it would be nice to do this and it would make the storages realistik sizes and not like unturned 3. Like you put a grizzly in a small box… it don’t fit but it do cuz fuck the sizedifference ._.
Btw. Looting bodies… and crates…
You should be abel to pick upp a body throw it in to your cars trunk an driving away would be awesome
But moving bodies… shortly
And crates too… like you kill a guy whois driving a pickup… whit crates on the back… you go up whit your van and throw the crates in to the back and drive away…
It would take time, yes but it would make sence and make something more and different to the game and it would be usefull…
