Hi there! I’m a somewhat, small time map maker, hailing from the C a n a d i a n American state of Maine. I’ve had experience over the years as both a player and a creator, and I’ve been in a map team as well, so I have a good idea of how one works and how it needs to be run.
I’ve always wanted to make a map of my own state. I’ve seen a few attempts at making a Maine map, but they’ve all looked very bad. They generally look bland and have various issues (including an overuse of bushes).
I’d like to make a map that’s actually fleshed out, with a fair (but not large) amount of custom clothing, weapons, and of course proper, NPCs. And if possible, attempt to shoot for curation.
I have a basic trello set up, and I’ll get a discord server set up later today/tomorrow.
I’ll need people with knowledge of NPC making, as well people with unity or blender knowledge. Also, folks who live near or have visited multiple times would be certainly be welcomed.
I’d be willing to take up position in administrating the project, work up concepts, and playtest extensively.
Experience: Multiple months spent working with iDrmzIt and developing lore, characters, and general map ideas for North America over Discord, up until the project’s abandonment.
I have experience with NPCs, as well as general mapmaking knowledge. I enjoy detailing locations - but I can fill various niches including the aforementioned production of NPCs.
honestly though, it’d be better if you learnt blender and unity before starting. When i first started Rio, i only knew how to make the map, no blender and stuff. It didn’t go well.
i suggest that you at least try, i don’t see a leader that goes “i only know editor and thats all” get 100% successful. Once you get the hang of blender its really easy
ok am done judging you and stuff bye and good luck
