Mysteriously, it seems to work completely fine now. I’m not sure why, but I’m not complaining.
Hi there
3 months ago, I posted to Reddit about this issue with little success. I saw the big update today and really would love to play it, but no matter what I try, I can’t actually play any levels except Destruction. The main menu loads completely fine and is 100% usable, but if I log into any level except Destruction, I can last anywhere from 1 to 30 seconds before the ground starts ‘flickering’ and then the game completely crashes.
I’m not sure if it’s a bug with my hardware and drivers or if it’s the actual game.
Specifications
- CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 @ 4x3.6GHz
- GPU: MSI GTX 950 Gaming 2G
- MOB: MSI Z97 Gaming 3
- RAM: 12GB DDR3 (2x2GB, 1x8GB)
- OS: Xubuntu 16.04.4 (see here)
Here’s a terminal log of me opening Destruction and then Alpha Valley and here’s the game log.
Before someone says "linux isnt for gaming wtf u doing"
I beg to differ. Microsoft’s Windows and Apple’s MacOS were never designed with gaming in mind either. And, because Nelson has ported the game to GNU/Linux, it should be maintained.
