During a long hiatus of a little over a month, I decided that I’d take the advantage of my free time from college and return to Unturned. To my dismay, it seems as if a majority of my cosmetics inventory had been ‘emptied’. Checking my trade history, nothing indicated anything unusual or malicious.
I realized something entirely different may be the issue, as both the ‘Fox Head’ and ‘Sushi Chef Hat’ for example on their respective Market pages send me straight to an error page. I’ve checked under my home network, a different account, and a VPN to see if it was related to my account, but I experienced the same issues when checking the online pages.
Hopefully everyone on the forum may not be experiencing the issue, and that would only be relegated to me, but if is isn’t just me, hopefully somebody here may have some insight of the issue at hand.
At least most of my cosmetics Elver update and earlier are still here!
~ Thanks in advance, The Somewhat Fantastic Mr. Fox.
P.s. I have restarted Unturned, re-installed, and verified integrity. I’ve also checked my online steam inventory to triple-check if the cosmetics are still there, sadly they aren’t.
This is an unrelated error with Steam (not the game). Messages like “There was an error getting listings for this item. Please try again later.” usually pop up when the servers are down / Steam is undergoing maintenance / there was an internet connection issue / etc.
I recommend checking your Inventory History rather than your Trade History.
Yeah, the link helped me figure out what exactly happened. All that occured was some Russian and Indians were using my account to try and sell my items (explaining all the Roubles, Rupees, and whatever currency Greece uses).
The only items that did go was my Skater Outfit, Sushi Shef Hat, Fur Hood, Bouquet Bluntforce, and Fox Head. Everything else that was nice like a plague doctor outfit wasn’t sold since they could not be listed. Everything else like skins were also emptied from my inventory. That and a few new Dota 2 items randomly showed up in my inventory, but besides that, minimal damage was done.
(Thank God my account wasn’t tethered to my banking at the time, it would have ended up a whole lot worse than it could have.)
Hi, a lesson that should be gained from this, and this should be known by all users:
Always have Steam Guard enabled for your mobile device. Make it so if you want to log-on you’ll have to use a two-factor authentication system. Remember, the security of your account matters, not just to you but to others, as people you are connected to may be targeted.
