No pockets? No storage

Clothes with no pockets or storage, like t-shirts and shirts, shouldn’t give any storage.

I always hated this. Hoodies and parkas have kangaroo pockets, (Is that what they were called?) shirts have nothing. Maybe office shirts etc with a little pocket in the front could give 2x2 storage, but not casual t-shirts.

Also all clothes should give overall less storage.

it makes sense, but I am torn whether I like this idea or not. Think of it from a gameplay perspective: the only storage you could have is a 2 by 2 area for your hands, and a backpack, 1 by 1 for pants, 2 by 2 for a shirt/jacket. that is literally no storage at all, which is realistic, but you cant hold anything. this is still a game.

I’m sure storage will be balanced in a way that only backpacks can carry any item, while others can only hold smaller items

This.

I’d appreciate if we could still, like, actually hold items though. We gotta remember stuff like weight, decreased inventory storage space, larger items, “sectionalized” inventory…

Of course, we do have the return of item stacking and even more stacking via things like ammo crates, and then overcoats and slings.

I mean what about generators? Maybe certain items can never be stored and have to be placed down immediately.

To be fair, generators aren’t really that useful being placed down whenever you want anyways, especially when most suggestions/concepts are asking for the average size of a section of clothing to be a 2x1, so that space you’d put a generator is also space you’d put basically any spare clothing items or gun.

But, yes

maybe to this.

I don’t know about this. I don’t like the idea of taking away the ability for people to store stuff, and items having weight also irks me.

On the surface it sounds like a good concept, but is it fun? no

The player has a lot of freedom with the current inventory. For instance: A player can carry around the structure items needed to build an entire house in his inventory. It’s not ‘realistic’ at all, but it’s awesome that a game like this allows you to do it. Taking this away forces players to play in a less fun way.

The same concept applies with weight. It just limits the player in ways that are not fun. Generally freedom == fun

Absolute freedom is just a sandbox game, I personally get bored of those fairly quickly. Fortunately for me, and unfortunately for you 4.X will be a survival game. Survival games are at their core about dealing with limited resources, whether those resources be time, health, food, water, crafting materials, or inventory space. If you want the most freedom you can have, go play Minecraft or Goat Simulator.

Personally if this is implemented I hope we still have our hands slots, otherwise looting as a freshspawn will be remember where that bean can was untill I find a pair of bottoms.

maybe the heavier the items in your inventory are, the slower you move?

IRL, where would you store beans if you were naked (don’t get any ideas). You can’t. An increased drop rate for clothes would be better to help the ‘problem’.

Survival games should have a challenge to overcome low food requires you to scavenge.
Zombie difficulty gets you to play stealthy
Having small inventory causes you to?

Be pissed off and place a shit ton of crates

In staged single player games (non open world)
This could work making it a difficult choice on what gear you take with you. And what you leave behind

Bruh did you see da new MC update

A part of me agrees to this but another part doesn’t
It sure does help with realism and a bit of balance, but is it too ristricting to the players? And would it be fun? You have to remember that this is a game and it should be fun.

uh you realize that cargo pants or BDU’s would have more space in them than a jacket

Unless its paydays goat simulator theres like -12454092385 freedom on that damned heist

uh yea if its realistic survival there will be clothes EVERYWEHRE eh?

Keep it relevant please.

Also, sure clothes could be everywhere, but most of it would have either been looted by previous scavengers or would be degraded significantly.

I’d imagine clothing being in rough condition after that long.

hmm that would probably be true but how long are we supposedly talking? and if it was open to fresh air or water

Up the ass, in your hands, or on a strap around your neck. Who keeps a gun in a backpack anyway?

I thought I said to not get any ideas.
Get your mind out of the gutter.

Someone who has no where else to store a gun with no sling?
