Old Freezing Effect still exists apparently

I recently picked this up thinking it would be the “new” freezing effect, only to be suprised by the old version that isn’t even on the wiki as far as I can see atm… Thought it was removed lol.
It would be nice if it could be named different or if there was at least some client-side way to set it to the newer one… I find the old snowflake feeling low res and much prefer the white squares that I’ve grown used to.
I know there’s not much you can do about no “inspect in-game” option due to when they changed steam’s api years ago; It would just be helpful if there was some way to tell before buying that it was the og version of the effect, or if there was some way to set it to the modern version so it at least matches with most freezing mythics. I could assume what uses the old version when buying freezings, but without a clear date on wiki It would be hard to tell when it swapped to the new one.

I’ll double-check this Nelson regarding this. For reference, it was changed on May 13th, 2022. I assumed it was retroactive but perhaps that’s not the case (as shown here).

Aye, thanks and feel free to let me know what he says. If he is gonna make a change I wouldn’t expect it to happen til whatever next update is, at the very least lol.

Following up:

I spoke with Nelson after the weekend. The image you’ve shared is correct (how it’s intended to look). The original square particles were replaced with the newer particle (that’s also used by the in-game snowy weather). There are no items that use the original effect.

The image on the wiki is outdated (from before this change) and should be updated in the future. Sorry for the confusion!

Ah, my bad. Thank you for letting me know. I understand the change, tho I’m confused to why the new glow is so weak on racks at least lol.
