This flag will make the player not enter vehicle but the camera still attached to the vehicle as if you were in it. This feature would open up to remote controlled vehicles.
Allowing remote-controlled vehicles could disrupt the balance of gameplay. I am also sure that the game engine may not support the complex physics for remote-controlled vehicles to function smoothly. Nelson is not going to make it because also remote control requires significant changes to the existing mechanics. I just know this because another game dev tried to add this to his game.
If you’re just interested in creating a mod right now – this is technically possible, it’s just not officially supported.
We featured one in a community blogpost a few years ago. But I’m sure there’s a handful of mods that do something similar!
