It was more or less the case with the first beta release, now the hours requirement is mostly the way to go, considering the amount of time it has been set that way and the consequent hour amount being decreased over time.

This happened last year, I got my key that way but now only having 2000 hours of gameplay the time may have decreased.
SDG no longer offer free product keys to notable forum users or anyone achieving ‘Regular’ status. They now prefer to use the automated system giving out invite tickets depending on your playtime in Unturned.
