Pretty sure agriculture will work differently in 4.X than in 3.X, but that would be convenient.
For some reason the pic on the left looks like it was taken from 2.0
But yeah, seems like a good idea
Convenient, but plants are different sizes. You can’t fit the same number of x plants in y space. If farming really warrants such an addition, plots/planters could possibly make your (still manual) placement based on an actual snap-to-grid alignment system, not inventory space.
Well, can’t we just make the seeds a bit bigger to symbolize the size of the crop when it grows?
Using Unturned 3 as an example, in most cases the distance apart from those wooden sticks is not literally double the size of other crops. In 4 and Unturned 3, this especially applies to modded content.
But wait, that size is only vertical tho
So it wouldn’t really matter which plant you want to grow. The crop plot has a set amount of space for the plants to grow in, let there be a grid to show how much space is there.
There are plenty of things that have different widths and depths, if we include mods or the newer art style of 4.
Vanilla Unturned 3? Yes, all of those are the same width/depth.
Modded Unturned 3, and Unturned 4 (in general)? Not the same idea. This idea really just takes an Unturned 3 feature and asks for a quality-of-life type of addition to things that are otherwise pretty “meh.” Making it a grid-based system based on depth and width would be far more applicable to other potential (vanilla or modded) game mechanics, would be more useful for modded content (the game is being made with modding in mind and any feature that hasn’t been moddable has been reworked or scrapped), and would be easier for vanilla content.
I’m not the one who made this. Comment this on the reddit page, not the forum.
