Thinking about modules

This isn’t really a suggestion as I’d rather Nelson work on better projects, but I had an idea that could be cool for modules if it’s possible.

Basically, a way to run modules through the workshop. If modules could be run through the workshop, it’d make one of the main issues with modules disappear. Since the workshop only load mods that the server has when joining a server, it might be possible to have it do the same with modules. So servers could have really good gamemode modules without worrying about cheat modules. It would also allow modules to become more publically accessible since you could just download them via the workshop.

Though, this is just a thought. I don’t have any experience with integrating the steam workshop into a game so idk if this could even work. Would be neat to see if it could tho

This has been explored before but it isn’t an option that I even think isn’t worth taking despite my love for modules. The number one problem: security.

I don’t really need to go into explaining why running third-party code libraries would be bad. In fact, check out this example of how it can go wrong (in this case for Cities: Skylines 2): Traffic Breach Statement - Paradox Interactive
