Thirdperson needs to go

This is going to attract a lot of backlash, and understandably so.
Thirdperson is definitely one of my favorite features in the game, and it brings so much to the table. But it also ruins everything about PvP. It’s too overpowered.
I myself would hate to see this go, but I think it would do the game much better.
Right now Nelson is also adding the turn just your head thing which is great, but will really just make Thirdperson even more powerful than it already is. It also sucks because there’s really no way to fix this. Either you make thirdperson really unenjoyable at all times or it stays overpowered.
Checking around corners used to be risky, you had to use Q and E and risk exposing your head to your enemy, now you just go thirdperson and prefire everyone without any risk.
You used to have to learn how much recoil your gun had while aiming down sights, now your crosshair just shows it for you.
Aiming down sights also used to block a lot of your view, especially with big guns.

If Thirdperson is not removed, then it should at least not be allowed on official servers.

Make third person’s head camera align to the center as opposed to the left or right and it’s balanced again.

Not really. You’d still be able to peek around corners. You just need to turn at an angle.

There are FPP servers you can join on Unturned.

That is the point of the third-person perspective in every TPP game, it is made so the player has a wider spatial awareness. Admittedly it can be ‘exploited’ to gain an advantage in shooter/multiplayer games such as PUBG, Unturned, H1Z1, and other TPP-able game.


I think that third-person perspective in Unturned is alright, but it needs some changes considering Unturned is a shooter.
Changes are centered view and aim-down-sight transition.

Centered view so that the player is fixed directly behind his avatar.

Aim-down-sight transition from TPP to FPP for gunplay reasons. Players wont escape the low-health rattling and if the player has a scope attached, they will be forced to hip-fire or aim down the scope with the transition mechanic.

Make it so thirdperson cannot see around corners

The problem is that there are barely any servers that don’t allow third person.
Other than that what you suggested is good.

its a bad idea to remove it, but al least make it not avaliable in some servers. or just add an buttom to turn it off in singleplayer

2.0 didn’t have 3rd person, and 3.0 didn’t have it for a long time. It wouldn’t hurt the game if it wasn’t present in 4.0.

As I said in the post, Nelson could make it to where you can enable thirdperson on your server, but official servers would always be first-person only.
Or maybe there would be separate servers that have First person only, Both perspectives and Thirdperson only, so players get to choose what they want to play.

EVERY official server should have 3 copies of the same server. 1 for third person mode and 1 for first person mode. and 1 for both

4.0 is mainly a zombie PvE game. Third pe son perspective is one of the best ways to get a large field of view without distorting. A large field of view is important when attacking zombies, and in games you have no peripheral vision. For PvP servers it could be disabled, and when a bettter alternative comes along it could be replaced, but for now it’s still very useful. ADS in third person should be fixed, and peeking around corners should be balanced, but third person should stay for the time being.

I propose to activate thirt person in 5 seconds after running
so you can see your character after 5 seconds in which you run
after you stop running, it returns to the first person (changes automatically)

If there is alot of official servers it is likely that both fp only and tp is available so you could just choose what you like. I almost feel a little dizzy playing fp sometimes myself.
