it would be cool if you can throw things like knifes and small objects to zombies, so they stop for a second
also more knifes life hunting knife and throwing knifes (they do very low damage when used to fight but they do more damage when is throw)
I think this could be doable, as 4.X will have a key for meleing with guns, which presumably means that there will be one more key available for using melee weapons.
