Unturned Needs a Inventory/Crafting UI Rework

Unturned has always had a simple, yet effective user interface (UI) with minor to minimal changes over the years to its crafting, skill, inventory, and map windows. However, with the introduction of new modding techniques and possibilities as well curated maps such as Elver, Arid, and especially Buak that focus on incorporating new and inventive crafting mechanics, the UI has never been more noticeably cluttered and hard to manage. I want to discuss the problems, concerns, and possible suggestions to the current 3.0 UI from least intense to most intense within gameplay of vanilla, modded, and curated unturned experiences. I want to share it for fun and to hear what other players have to say. Suggest ideas below pls
TLDR AT THE BOTTOM

I wish for the option to “close” a clothing items’ display of items, and to “open” them back up to see the items stored inside. That way, if someone’s backpack is full, they can close the menu and focus on their next equipped clothing item to fill with space. This would also help players who have the “Nearby” tab on the bottom of their inventory instead of to the right side.

Another addition I wish to see would be a UI for the players clothes displayed under, over, or optional toggled with a character model. I have an example from a Project Zomboid mod here:

This way, a character can be seen with what clothing their are wearing if the player is wearing clothing that covers a large visual piece of the clothing wearing underneath or on top of.

The crafting menu, this is real thing I wanted to discuss and ask for opinions on. The intense crafting heavy maps such as community made maps and servers, mods and overrides conflicting with items available and items which are not, and especially curated maps liked Buak make crafting a nightmare to scroll through. The type of item such as Crafting Supplies, Food/Drink, Melee Weapon, and others aren’t sorted properly in my opinion. Here is a list of some things to suggest that I thought of and asked players of. Please leave any extra suggestions in the comments.

  • -Renaming/editing the “Supplies” and “Gear” tab. Items that are labeled as Crafting Supply go in the Gear tab and items labeled as Medical and Food/Drink go into the supplies tab. Rename the supplies tab to Sustainables or an similar alternative. Or better yet add a seperate medical tab and a seperate food tab. Which can include seeds.

  • -A filter with multiple options for searching. Searching for an item/recipe/component with the ability to toggle certain types of items on and off to remove clutter. I.e, searching “Metal Bar” but filtering only for furniture or filtering all types of items except furniture.

  • -Crafting menu should have a separate search bar for each tab/category. As well as a separate universal search bar. Currently it is only universal.

  • -The delete/X feature for crafting recipes should move the crossed out recipe entirely somewhere else to remove space. Possibly having it show up at the bottom and/or in a crossed out recipe tab.

  • -A favorites tab where you selected recipes you use often, the opposite of the delete recipe feature.

  • -Add back the craft all button, craft one button, and keep the CTRL+MB shortcut.

  • -Add a crafting tab for Optics/Attachments, remove the recipes from “Tools”

  • -Add a crafting tab for Weapons. Bows, Pine rifles, remove the recipes from “Tools”

  • -Add a crafting tab for Salvaging instead of the current “Tools” tab. (Ik this one might be impossible)

  • -Move fertilizer out of the barricades tab, same with seeds.

  • -ADDING THE DESCRIPTION OF THE ITEM IN THE CRAFTING RECIPE PLEASE
Overall the entire interface should be smaller to fit more into it, allowing to scroll easier without cluttering the crafting menu as much, however this is super subjective.

TLDR:
-Map/Information tab is good, add options for markers
-Skills tab is good, slightly confusing categories
-Inventory should have separate clothing UI
-Equipped clothing in the inventory should have an “Open” & “Close/Hide” feature
-Add crafting filters as well as numerous crafting changes based off of the items type/label. I.e “Common crafting supply” “Rare Drink” “Mythical Barricade”
-PLEASE ADD ITEM DESCRIPTION IN THE CRAFTING RECIPE MENU.

The shortcut options when right clicking items is awesome ty.
