if everything was high poly those gun mods would actually look decent. Think about it! All that workshop spam of just random guns would actually fit the artstyle.

Or it would be other way around

low poly AK-47 pack!!!

oh god, that would be horrifying. We cannot let the cycle continue, the cycle must be broken.
I now know what I must do, I will complete my mission.
I have to go back in time and delete the steam workshop

Okay, not gonna lie, this gave me a good laugh.

Rust isn’t “ultra survival”, or even survival centric for that matter. It’s the literal definition of a PvP centric game, but it just so happens that there are wandering NPCs and a greater variety of PvE events.

Still, almost all of Rust is centered towards combat or raids, and to call it authentically survival would be a joke.

Oh shit, You’re right. Bad example bad example.
I meant something more like the long dark or dayz,
Thank you for pointing this out (havent played rust in awhile)

The Long Dark is probably one of the best examples out there as it’s one of the only survival centric games that actually also doesn’t have zombies. Though it’s single player so the correlation might be iffy. DayZ is just Rust but worse

I haven’t played Rust since XP, just kept track of the development. Still waiting for the day I don’t need to do gunfights at single digits FPS :stuck_out_tongue:

Same to be honest, Thats why I stopped playing.

there have been a lot of good changes since xp (though i liked xp)
i think i’ll start playing when they add electricity or cars

wait… there was an XP system?

a lot of butthurt rust players liked blueprint more so they removed it and rushed out the component system

Well both of those are currently in the staging branch, so idk what you’ve been waiting for.

I’ve been with Rust since the days of Legacy, or the Unturned 2.0 equivalent of Rust. The XP system would’ve been equivalent to the Stealy Wheely update in terms of timeline.

well cars aren’t really done, only one beta car.
also i know electricity is coming soon thats why i mentioned it, but i want to wait until its done

There already is.

Ahhh. You can sort by ping too. And alphabetically.

I don’t want to see unrealistic weapons like a NATO firearm taking both military/ranger magazines

I don’t want to see a lack of enemy variety (accept it fellas, we’re getting Bandits to some degree or another. On top of this I’d like to see hostile turrets at certain locations that fire at players, as well as a good variety of Turned)

A durability system, unless it’s actually decent this time around

Overpoch had a really good end game and pretty good progression as it would take multiple hours to get geared, with good map design that actually forced good player interaction unlike almost very unturned map currently out there. Also end game combat was very well done, with technicals and helis being the vehicles of choice, and it being very very difficult to kill fully geared players.

its fun seeing people edit posts in realtime

If you genuinely want to get me started, take a good look at who used Early Access more wisely.

Facepunch worked their asses off to strive for a fleshed out release in a mere 4 years from Legacy. Nelson likewise for Unturned led the charge, having made almost incomprehensible amounts of changes to Unturned in the same 4 years, as just a single person, managing to still exit EA phase before virtually any survival games out there.

Meanwhile, DayZ is older than both of them but only just made it to beta and literally nearly died community-wise.

I’ll take the good devs over the good maps any day.

This statement alone applys to SO MUCH
Like you said with dayz being a shite game with a good map, The map being good doesn’t just bring the quality of the game up. So many games have good levels or features but if the devs are arse the game will still lack quality. Take a look at Black Ops 4, the on disc zombie maps for that game are some of the best the series has ever seen but they fucked up stability so its almost impossible to enjoy them due to the shite code. I could go on about this stuff forever but I think I’ve said all I need too. Good map does not equal good game.
