What nelson can do to 3.0 to make it better while he works on 4.0

Instead of an update every week, it should be every month or 2 weeks. This could allow him to optimize 3.0 by a small bit. I just want a small bit of optimization every update so those brats in the steam update comments shut up. It will also allow for some testing with a feature, and allow nelson to balance out some time with 4.0. I don’t even care for how long the game loads.

I’m sure I saw same thread before

Yes, you are correct. the subbreddit.

There’s nothing to optimize farther though, hence why Nelson started 4.0 to begin with

Untiy < UE4

Unity and UE4 are not necessarily better than one another, each has many drawbacks and advantages.

However Nelson did make the right choice in switching engines given he’d be forced to rewrite the entire game’s code, aka deep optimization

UE4 > Unity

Well, isn’t UE4 much easier to use?

What do you mean with “easier to use” both of them use different languages, C++ for UE and C# for Unity

I recall Nelson saying that using UE4 will be benefitial for the game for some reason so I thought UE4 was generally better than Unity.

No, it’s only better in that Nelson has kinda hit the end of the road for Unity, so he decided to try something new.
Unity is actually the easier to use of the two while Unreal has the greater potential with assets.

Many excellent, beautiful, optimized games have been made from Unity, from Kerbal Space Program to Escape From Tarkov. It’s only a matter of utilization.

Ok
Thank you for the new info
Didn’t know Escape from Tarkov was made on Unity despite the game being polished and pretty smooth
