I don’t get why this thread was locked? It was kept civil and I think it would be good for people to be able to voice their concerns about changes which affect the game so immensely.

In my opinion these changes felt like targeted attacks on the individuals affected. Were they even given a chance to defend or refute any claims that were brought up? Did SDG have any proof before blacklisting these people or were they just fed misinformation by a third party who had malicious intentions?

It’s important to remember that silencing someone just because SDG doesn’t agree with them can be seen as a violation of free speech. I must say, all the criticism brought up has been shared in a friendly and respectful way.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this post ends up being closed with a suggestion to reach out to Maddie directly. However, it’s entirely possible that she and the team at SDG might not even respond and begin a full-scale ignoring of all undesirables. (Which they actually already do)
I’ll be honest: there are currently two possible outcomes for Unturned.
Either things will return to at least somehow normal, or all the modders and active players will leave, leaving only around 100+ player base at most (Not even 1500+ active as right now). As for the recent changes in curated changes, I wonder who will even create new maps after that if no one remains, there won’t be any new content.
No one is perfect, we apologize on our knees if we’ve been horrible in any way Smartly Dressed Games thinks. But we don’t want the Unturned game to die completely. We want the game to thrive, not die.

Yeah nah. They have not and cannot force them to say X or Y (which would be what you described, aka compelled speech). They absolutely can end their business relationship with them tho. Whether or not that paints them in a positive light is a different matter entirely, but this is not a free speech issue.

It’s not a violation of free speech, SDG absolutely has the right to choose who they do and do not want to work with, something that it is completely normal for companies to do in the REAL WORLD.

Pretty unhinged situation so I don’t think the reactions are unhinged at all. I think it’s weird for SDG to drop a crazy change right before the holidays and the weekend.
