Devlog #005

Maybe separate the components, and attachments menus? Maybe weapon maintenance could be done in the components menu, while the attachments menu would be quicker to access. I’m not really sure what the difference between attachments and components. Why is the handguard essential, but not the stock? Why is the magazine not listed as an attachment or a component.

I don’t recall this ever being mentioned anywhere.

It’s mentioned on the wiki

The wiki is not active yet, and cannot be used for that kind of information.

https://wiki.smartlydressedgames.com/Eaglefire

The wiki is under construction.

Aren’t you the one who added that part about the attachments and components and the stock not being essential?

Information on the wiki is a mixture of confirmed information from Nelson and assumable speculation (ie: it can be assumed that a stock is not mandatory, especially since no attachments require a stock to to be attached). Primarily, the information is currently formatted in whatever way makes the most sense for creating a structured page design for when the game is actually released with more complete information.

Until the first public test branch of 4.x, the wiki is hard under construction and cannot be used for that kind of information reliably. That aside, @GreatHeroJ did a decent job explaining the differences between ammunition, attachments, and components.

Isn’t the buffer housed inside the stock of an m4?
Where did (s)he explain that?

no. the buffer tube is attached to the receiver of most ar15 weapons, and those that aren’t don’t have buffer tubes to begin with. ar15 stocks go over the buffer tube.

Well in most AR15s (That I’ve seen atleast) the stock and grip are both part of the lower receiver.

i can concede on the grip, but if the stock part is true, then you live in commiefornia.

No it has controller support

In my experience the buffer tube is attached to the upper receiver in AR-15s.

That’s kinda how it is for a lot of NATO assault rifles

I just didn’t some looking around, and it seems like the one piece stock/lower is pretty much exclusive to polymer.
Guess I should pay more attention to the other options.

Looks amazing, super glad that this is going to happen. I wonder if dragon’s breath shotgun shells could possibly be added (they set stuff on fire!)

What do dragon’s breath shells have to do with Devlog 5?

well…they’re a type of ammunition…and the last part of devlog 5 is about ammunition…so i guess it’s technically possibly sort of relatedish?

Looking great so far! Keep up the good work.

So a dense box of ammo can actualy carry more bullets then a drum/mag?!

Huge step!
