Lighting sources (Full list)

Ligthing in survival situations is of paramount importance. Not only for surviving the night, but also for exploring various locations where sunlight is not there to help you (Large abandoned buildings, bunkers etc.) and for keeping your encampment well lit up.

In this post,I am going to suggest all of the lighting sources that I would personally like to see in Unturned II.

(Big post incoming btw)

So,let’s begin:

Handheld and portable

Flashlight
124309
Source:https://www.rei.com/product/124309/fenix-pd35-tac-flashlight

  • Portable and reliable.
  • Can be used underwater
  • Requires batteries
  • Has 2 light intensity modes: low,which doesn’t attract the Turned,and high,which does
  • Comes with 2 range and wideness settings-> 1:less range but wider light field 2:more range but narrower light field
  • 2 modes,standard and strobe.

Crank flashlight

Source:https://www.homedepot.com/p/Eton-LED-American-Red-Cross-Clip-Ray-ARCCR100R-SNG/204249021

  • Does not require batteries but it needs cranking to charge, which makes noise, attracting any nearby Turned.
  • Crank charge lasts for, well, not forever but quite a while (5 mins. irl)
  • If it you turn it off while charged and being used,it needs cranking to use it again.
  • Cannot be used underwater
  • Does not attract the Turned
  • Emits less light than the normal flashlight

Electric camp lantern

Source:https://www.insidehook.com/nation/10-best-electric-camp-lanterns-guide

  • Solar chargeable, just place it out in a sunny day to charge
  • Lasts for quite long (Half an ingame night e.g.)
  • Can be handheld
  • Cannot be used undewater
  • Attracts nearby Turned hordes (If they are a thing) if used unwisely in the wild.

Oil lantern
415kQsQfbEL
Source:https://www.amazon.com/Dietz-Original-76-Burning-Lantern/dp/B008UW3O8A

  • Requires oil to work (Obviously)
  • Lasts about 1/3 of the time the electric one does
  • Can be handheld
  • Cannot be used undewater
  • Emits less light than it’s electric counterpart so it does not attract Turned hordes
  • Oil canisters have a lot of fuel in them,so the lantern itself might not last as long, but it can be refilled many times.
Disposable

Road flares

Source:https://www.wikihow.com/Light-a-Road-Flare

  • Can either be thrown or held (RMB/LMB e.g.)
  • Attracts the Turned to its location
  • Burns for about 3-4 minutes irl, enough to light your way or create a distraction
  • Can ignite dry grass and oil leaks
  • Causes a small amount of damage when thrown on a Turned or player
  • Extinguishes if submerged

Chemlights

Source:http://www.laststandtactical.com/chem-light-single

  • Can either be thrown or held too (RMB/LMB e.g.)
  • Lasts longer than the flare (About 1 ingame night),emits less light, but does not attract the Turned to its position
  • Can be used underwater
  • Can be hung onto your belt, backpack or vest while lit.

Rifle flashlight mount

Source:https://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCMGUNFIGHTER-1-Inch-Light-Mount-KeyMod-Version-p/bcm-lm1-m0-km.htm

This is not really a light source on its own,but is used to attach the flashlight on rifles, smg’s, etc.

Keep in mind that this is just my own opinion and you are free to dissagree or elaborate on it.
And yes I know that it is too early to suggest all of that and nothing is confirmed,I made this post to mostly gather opinions and/or ideas.

I have a suggestion for the flash light in that the bright mode will drain the batteries much faster than the dim mode.

Actually, flares burn underwater. Cool right?

I made this pretty long ago, and did some side suggestions as well.

We both missed a lot of other possible lighting sources that could be added, but I’m sure it’ll solve itself as the game development progresses.

@RedCo you’ve seized enough shit already, now do the world a favour and begone thot stay on the weeb side of your wall.

Yeah,I went ahead and looked at your post before making this one to make sure I don’t suggest the same, but yeah sure,Nelson is going to come up with more ideas in the future.

Oof,forgot that one…

You didn’t include a shake light.

Weebs are fine meine frieund

You should be able to tape a flashlight to your gun, for less stableisation.
